How do I pay?
I use PayPal most of my payments. It’s secure, simple and most people are familiar with it. If you are in the UK, I can also accept bank transfers.
When do I pay?
It depends on the project. If it’s the first time you are hiring me, I might ask for a deposit before starting on the work. Usually I just invoice for payment at the end of the month.
How much do you charge?
It all comes down to the details of the project. As a general guide, however, I charge $35 USD (about £25) for ecommerce emails, and about $50 / £40 an hour for other tasks.
Will you make edits?
I’m always happy to make edits to emails. When I complete an email, I’ll send it to you for approval. If you want any changes, just let me know and I’ll make them with no complaints.
Can I see some samples?
Sure, just let me know and I’ll send you a link. By the way, I always ask clients for permission before sharing samples with anyone else. I will never share work I create for you without your express permission.
Do you write for international clients?
All my clients are international. I write for clients from the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Europe … all over the place.
Where are you?
I’m currently residing in Argentina, my second home. However, I’m a native British writer and most of my clients are based in the UK, Europe, and the USA.
What’s the difference between ecommerce emails and other emails?
Ecommerce emails are specifically for ecommerce stores with a focus on relationship building and increasing sales. They are usually (but not always) quite short, and they include specific flows based on customer behaviour. Marketing emails tend to focus more on relationship building, newsletters and selling services or affiliate products. See the Email Copywriting page for more info,
Do you send the emails as well?
I focus exclusively on writing the copy for your emails. I am familiar with most email marketing software, including Klaviyo, but I don’t set up and send the emails. The deliverable is the copy.
Do you carry out A/B testing?
I don’t do the tests myself, but I will recommend things to test (e.g. subject lines), and I will provide copy that you can test depending on your goals. I have worked with lots of businesses that constantly test their emails, so this is something I can certainly advise you on.
How do you deliver the work?
Usually in a Word file or a Google Doc if you use Google Drive. Whatever’s most convenient for you.
How can I contact you?
The best way to contact me is via email. Whether you’ve just got a question or you’re ready to start working, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or use the form on the contact page. If you would like to speak on the phone, I’ll be happy to schedule a call.
What do you need from me?
Writing effective copy always starts with having all the right information. I’ll either ask you directly for the info I need (perhaps over a phone call), or I’ll send you a quick questionnaire asking for more details. This will usually involve details about your business, target audience, goals, etc.
