Hi, I’m Jon and I’ve been a full-time freelance copywriter since 2008. While I’ve dabbled in all kinds of copy over the years, I now dedicate myself to emails – with a particular focus on ecommerce.
For me, emails are copywriting in its purest form. You create an email, and as soon as you send it you get to see how effective it is. I like to see results from my writing, and that’s sometimes difficult with other types of copy. Web copy, blogs and press releases are all important – but you often can’t measure the exact benefit they bring to your business. But an email that generates 10 sales in your ecommerce store? The ROI is crystal clear.
Emails have such a big impact on building relationships, winning business and converting customers. I also think they’re rather fun to write.
Who am I?
Over a decade ago, I moved from the UK to Argentina. I wanted to travel and see the world, and South America appealed to me. I never intended to stay very long, but … life happened.
I had always been keen on writing (it was one of the reasons I studied English Literature), but I had never worked freelance before. Deciding it would be fun, I gave it a go … and never looked back.
I started out writing blogs, web copy and other general tasks for SMEs and marketers. But my favourite jobs were always emails.
I wondered whether I could make a full-time income writing emails alone, and once I began to focus on emails, it soon became apparent that this was what I should have been doing all along.
It turned out that there were many, many companies out there struggling to make email marketing work for them. They had all heard how effective it could be, but the results never materialised.

I price fairly. There are cheaper copywriters; there are much more expensive copywriters. I price my services fairly, somewhere in the middle. It’s affordable for small businesses and agencies and you get a great ROI.
